Mathari: What is in a name?

A few weeks ago, the World Mental Health Day was marked. The event is commemorated on October 10, but in Kenya, this was changed to the last Friday of October due to the Moi Day holiday.
Every year, there are calls for the reduction of stigma against mental illness by changing the name of the premier mental health institution in this region, Mathari Hospital.

Youth Voices: Breaking silence on Mental Health

An ambitious campaign to enhance awareness about mental health, mental illness and epilepsy spearheaded by young people is set to be launched .  
The mental health awareness campaign aims to demystify and mainstream mental illness and epilepsy into primary healthcare and put demand on the government for the completion of a National Mental Health Policy and revision of the Mental Health ACT (Cap 248).
